The MBW Heavy Duty Vibratory Plate line spans 20, 21, and 23 in sizes for granular and asphalt compaction, offered as GP models for sand and gravel or, at the two smaller sizes, AP models with a water tank added for asphalt work.

Shipping & Freight

For an order containing products from a single brand, shipping is a flat rate based on your order total:

  • Orders up to $5,000: $279
  • Orders $5,000 to $10,000: $347
  • Orders $10,000 and over: $517

These rates cover standard freight delivery to a commercial address. After you place your order, our team will confirm your delivery timeline within 1 to 3 business days.

Ordering from more than one brand? Multi-brand orders ship on separate freight and are quoted individually rather than at the flat rate above. Place your order or contact us first and we will confirm total freight before anything is finalized.

Liftgate service is not included in these rates. If your delivery location has no loading dock or forklift to unload the freight from the truck, liftgate service is required and will be added to your shipping charge. If you are unsure whether you need it, contact us before ordering.

Commercial delivery locations are preferred when available. Residential delivery, limited-access locations, and appointment scheduling may affect handling.

Lead times vary by product, manufacturer availability, and selected options. Some configured, special-order, or non-stock items require additional processing time before they ship.

The MBW Heavy Duty Vibratory Plate line covers three plate sizes for granular and asphalt compaction: the 20 in AP2000/GP2000, the 21 in AP3550/GP3550, and the 23 in GP5800, MBW's flagship. Across the line, MBW offers a GP model tuned for sand and gravel and, at the 20 and 21 in sizes, an AP model with a water tank added for asphalt work; the 23 in GP5800 is offered only as a GP.

The AP2000 was MBW's first plate built specifically for asphalt work: a stress-relieved steel plate resists cracking, and an aluminum exciter housing sheds heat quickly while custom lubricants protect the bearings and seals. The GP2000 shares that frame without the tank, tuned instead for sand and gravel. Stepping up to the 21 in size, the AP3550 and GP3550 add a full roll cage as standard equipment and a self-cleaning, open-sided base plate, built to run high-production work for decades. At the top of the line, the GP5800 carries more centrifugal force than any other plate MBW builds, in a removable, easily serviced exciter assembly with a standard protective engine cage, positioned as an economical alternative to a reversible plate. This is a line for crews who size the plate to the job in front of them, from asphalt patch and lot work up through the high-production commercial and infrastructure compaction the GP5800 is built for.

Selection Notes

  • Size to the job: 20 in for asphalt patch, lot, and general compaction; 21 in for high-production work built to run for decades; 23 in for the largest commercial and infrastructure jobs, and as an alternative to a reversible plate.
  • Where both are offered (20 and 21 in), pick AP for asphalt work or GP for sand and gravel without a tank. No AP version is offered at 23 in.
  • Optional accessories vary by size: a UHMW paving pad is available for all three sizes, while the wheel kit and service kit are offered only at 20 in, and the water tank kit (to add a tank to a GP unit) is offered at 20 and 21 in. Confirm current availability and lead time with the supplier before ordering.
