The Baumalight 3P24 is a hydraulic three point hitch stump grinder for tractors up to 58 engine horsepower, running a 24 in wheel with 34 bolt-in carbide teeth at 810 rpm. The cutting and lifting cylinders run off the tractor remotes across a 65 degree sweep, cutting 18 in above grade and 8 in below.

The 3P24 is where the Baumalight three point range goes hydraulic, and the sweep is what changes. The 1P machines cut where the tractor puts them; this one swings the head through 65 degrees on its own cylinders, so the operator works the stump across its face without shunting the tractor back and forth. The lift cylinder sets the height in the same way.

That costs a pair of rear remotes. Two sets are wanted, and a tractor with only one is covered by the S1050 valve kit, which is ordered as its own part number and comes installed from the factory. The supplier is direct that fitting the kit later costs more, because it carries extra freight and a complete new hose set.

The gear box between the power take-off and the wheel is the piece that makes the drive work: it turns the wheel faster than the shaft driving it, so the teeth run faster than the power take-off and still carry the load to stay in the cut. Underneath, the heavy base is doing quiet work: it holds the frame steady against the cut so the load goes into the ground rather than into the tractor's back end. The flow control knob sets the sweep speed, which is how a smaller tractor is matched to the machine rather than being overrun by it.

Selection Notes

Two rear remotes are wanted. If the tractor has one, order the S1050 valve kit variant, which ships installed from the factory.
Fitting the valve kit in the field costs more than ordering it with the machine, on the supplier's own statement, because of freight and a complete new hose set.
The hitch category is a buyer choice on this model. The 3P24 is offered as Cat I or II, so the frame takes either category of three point linkage; order the category the tractor's own hitch is. The 3P34, 3P38 and 3P40 are Cat II only.
This model is not quick hitch compatible. The 1P frame is.
Confirm the recommended tractor size with the supplier if the tractor sits at either end of the range.
Book freight against the part number ordered, because the standard machine and the S1050 build book at different freight weights.
