The MX530R is the root-rake version of Baumalight's 500 Series excavator mulcher, for crews clearing fence lines and reclaiming overgrown ground where the felled material has to be moved as well as cut. The rake is built into the frame rather than bolted on, so the same machine that mulches standing brush also pushes the logs and slash out of the working path without a tool change.

The rotor runs fixed carbide teeth in a spiral pattern so one tooth engages at a time, which keeps the cut smooth and the hydraulic draw steady instead of spiking as the machine loads. Teeth are bolt-in and replaceable in the field, and a relief valve protects the motor when the rotor meets something it cannot chew. This sits at the entry end of contractor mulching work, sized for the compact excavators a landscape or utility crew already runs.

The mount is the second decision to make, because an excavator does not have one standard attachment face the way a skid steer or a tractor does. A skid steer takes a universal quick-attach plate and a tractor takes a numbered hitch class, so the same head bolts to any machine in the class. An excavator instead carries its own coupler geometry, and Baumalight's ordering route for it is split by that geometry. Blank Weld-On Plate Only ships the supplier's own D001161 blank plate, which the supplier describes as a plate designed for you to weld on your own ear lugs for your specific excavator and rates for a 1.5 to 10 ton carrier; the bolt pattern on the plate is specific to Baumalight, so the head-side interface is fixed and the machine-side geometry is taken up by lugs a fabricator welds to suit the carrier. The three coupler options arrive fitted to the carrier instead: in the supplier's words, the team at Baumalight designs and builds your custom excavator adaptor for your specific excavator to ensure that the attachment is ready to go to work as soon as it arrives, with a wedge, a pin-on or pin-grabber, or a cross-pin style coupler resolved from the excavator brand and model at order time, and Excavator Weight Class sizes that mount to the carrier. Selection Notes

• Match the mulcher to the carrier by class first: tracked excavators from 4 to 12 ton and wheeled excavators from 6 to 14 ton carry this model.
• Hydraulic couplers are ordered separately because the face varies by carrier. Confirm the face against your carrier before ordering.
• Units ship with P5000 planer teeth fitted. Ripper teeth are the alternative style for below-grade work and in stony ground, and both styles are bolt-in.
• Mount Option changes what arrives, and with Excavator Weight Class it is the second real decision to make. Blank Weld-On Plate Only ships the supplier's own blank plate, D001161, which the supplier rates for a 1.5 to 10 ton excavator and which the buyer welds on. • Excavator Weight Class sizes the mount to the carrier. The supplier prices and weighs its couplers by that same ton banding, at about 100 lb for a 1.5 to 6 ton carrier and 200 lb for a 7 to 9 ton carrier.
