The Baumalight S24 grinds stumps behind a 30 to 80 HP skid steer, reaching 15 in below grade and 22 in across with a 24 in rotor of 34 bolt-in planer teeth, and carries its head on a hydraulic swing cylinder worked from the cab through a 12 volt diverter valve. It is for businesses running several operators, for rental fleets, and for owners on larger carriers, which is where the supplier points this model rather than the lighter S22.

The trade against that lighter machine is deliberate. A hydraulic cylinder means a heavier frame and a more measured pass, and it takes rougher handling than an electric actuator does. The flow control knob is the part an operator notices: it sets how fast the head travels through the work, so the machine is matched to the carrier instead of being dragged through the job by it, and with the diverter valve on the remote a single pass takes more of the stump before the carrier has to be repositioned.

Two motors are offered and both want a case drain, so the choice here is about flow rather than plumbing, and again the larger one is not the quicker one everywhere. The 125 cc S445 is the faster of the two at the bottom of the band; the 130 cc S545 is slower there, matches it through the middle, and pays for itself only by reaching a ceiling the S445 never sees, so it is worth its cost on a carrier that can actually supply it and not otherwise. Wiring is the other thing to settle before ordering, because the supplier offers 8 pin and 14 pin auxiliary plugs and a 7 pin Bobcat plug, so a carrier carrying one of those runs the attachment from its in-cab controls with no extra loom and no hand control.

The supplier positions this model above the S22 for multi-operator businesses, rental fleets and larger carriers, on a heavier frame and heavier hydraulic cylinders. Read that against how the machine will be used.
Name the carrier's auxiliary plug when ordering. The supplier offers 8 pin, 14 pin and 7 pin Bobcat, and the right one avoids a hand control.
Both motors want a case drain, so check the carrier has the port.
Hydraulic couplers are not supplied on this model.
