The Baumalight 3P34 is a hydraulic three point hitch stump grinder for tractors up to 85 engine horsepower, running a 34 in wheel with 52 bolt-in carbide teeth at 810 rpm. The cylinders sweep the head through 65 degrees, cutting 25 in above grade and 14 in below with a 32 in horizontal reach.

The 3P34 is the 3P frame with the big wheel on it. Against the 3P24 the disc goes from 24 in to 34 in and the tooth count from 34 to 52, and the cut goes from 8 in below grade to 14 in with a 32 in horizontal reach. That is the difference between tidying a stump and removing it.

The teeth stand a full inch and a quarter proud of the wheel, which is the detail that keeps a big cut moving: the chips clear instead of packing between the tooth and the disc. Fifty two of them share the work, so each takes a small bite and the set wears evenly. Behind them the three quarter inch steel disc carries the momentum through the hard part of a stump.

Behind that disc sits the gear box, and it is where this model separates from the 3P24: the torque it develops at the hub is the highest the supplier publishes anywhere in this tractor range, shared only with the 3P38. It asks for a Category II hitch and up to 85 engine horsepower, and it swings through 65 degrees on its own cylinders like the rest of the hydraulic frame. Two rear remotes are wanted, and the S1050 valve kit covers a tractor with only one. The supplier's grind time chart puts the same cut at about 4 minutes behind an 80 horsepower tractor and 6 minutes behind 60, so the tractor decides the working day more than the wheel does.

Selection Notes

Two rear remotes are wanted. If the tractor has one, order the S1050 valve kit variant, which ships installed from the factory.
Fitting the valve kit in the field costs more than ordering it with the machine, on the supplier's own statement, because of freight and a complete new hose set.
Category II hitch, and this model is not quick hitch compatible.
The hub torque and wheel speed are 1,475 ft-lb at 810 rpm, the highest torque figure in the seven model tractor range and shared only with the 3P38.
Confirm the recommended tractor size with the supplier if the tractor sits at the bottom of the range.
Book freight against the freight weight for the part number ordered, which is higher than the shipping weight the spec chart carries.
