The Baumalight MP348 is a 300 Series fixed-tooth mulcher for three-point hitch tractors, with a 60 in path and a 48 in rotor carrying 60 rotatable high speed teeth. It weighs 1,050 lb, runs from a 540 rpm power take-off on a quick-hitch-compatible CAT 1 hitch, and needs no tractor remote.

Delivery is available to the Lower 48 only; no shipping to Alaska, Hawaii or other US territories. Shipping is a flat rate based on your order total:

  • Orders up to $5,000: $279
  • Orders $5,000.01 to $10,000: $347
  • Orders $10,000.01 and over: $517

These rates cover standard freight delivery to a commercial address. After you place your order, our team will confirm your delivery timeline within 1 to 3 business days.

Liftgate service is required if your delivery location has no loading dock or forklift to unload the freight. If you are unsure whether you need it, contact us before ordering.

Commercial delivery locations are preferred when available. Residential delivery, limited-access locations, and appointment scheduling may affect handling and extend delivery time.

The MP348 is the step up from the smallest head in the line without stepping up the tractor. It takes a wider path on a CAT 1 hitch off the tractor power take-off, and it stays inside what a mid-compact tractor can carry and still steer.

Drive is mechanical the whole way. Nothing is plumbed. A reinforced belt carries the load from the gearbox to the rotor, and a slip clutch in the driveline releases at a set torque so the gearbox is not what gives way when the rotor stalls.

The teeth are the H3000 high speed type with a concave carbide tip that chips material away rather than tearing it. Each tooth turns in its holder, so a dulled edge is brought round to a fresh one instead of the tooth being pulled and replaced, and the spiral pattern on the drum brings them into the cut one at a time for a smoother pass. A wire protection kit is fitted around the rotor and shaft, which is the part that matters in an old fence line where a caught wire otherwise walks to the end of the rotor and wraps the shaft.

Selection Notes

  • Size the tractor by power first: 25 to 50 engine horsepower, with a maximum of 40 at the power take-off.
  • The hitch is CAT 1 and is quick hitch compatible, which the 500 and 900 Series tractor heads are not.
  • This model runs entirely off the power take-off, so a tractor with no spare circuit still carries it.
  • Cutting is at grade. The 500 Series heads are the first in the line that cut below grade.
  • The wire protection kit and the slip clutch are both standard fitment, not options.
  • Read the brush chart below against the tractor's horsepower and transmission. It gives a maximum brush diameter for each pairing, and the geared and hydrostatic tables differ because the technique differs, not the head.
  • Six replacement teeth matching the fitted tooth option come with every Baumalight brush mulcher, and a D004978 24-pack of H3000 teeth can be added at purchase.
