The KR30 turns a 45 horsepower tractor into a 30 kW source of standby and remote 120/240 single phase power, which is the whole case for a PTO generator: one less engine to own, fuel, service and start after months of sitting. It is the smallest of the four KR models, the one the supplier names for its D001378 three point hitch deck, and it is built for contractors, utility and grounds crews, and service operations that already run a tractor in this class and need power at a shop, a yard or a jobsite without buying a second engine to get it.

The genset is a cast-iron, four-pole, brushless alternator on four oversized copper windings, and an oil-filled gearbox steps the PTO input down to an internal speed well below engine speed, which the supplier ties to duty cycle: less friction, heat and wear over a long run. The four windings give momentary surge capacity of up to three times rated power, so a motor starting under load does not drag the voltage down, and automatic voltage regulation holds output within 1 percent from 64 down to 56 Hz. The DisplayMaster1 puts voltage, frequency, amperage, kW, kVA, power factor and run time on one screen beside a three-light over and under speed indicator, and reset circuit breakers clear a surge without hunting for a spare fuse.

Selection Notes

• Size the tractor first. The KR30 draws 23 hp at 50 percent load and 45 hp at 100 percent load, and the 100 percent figure governs if the generator will run near its rating.
• Wire Length is the run from the generator to the service. The supplier ships the KR30 with a 10 ft full power cord and prices its cable by the foot for a longer run, offered at 20, 30, 50 and 100 ft beyond the included 10 ft.
• The KR30's included 10 ft cord carries an Anderson connector.
• The three point hitch deck is an added-cost option in place of the trailer. The supplier names D001378, its 18 to 45 kW deck, for the KR30; give the model when ordering.
• Never mount a generator directly onto concrete, rock, metal or soil. The supplier's rubber mount kit, D001478, four isolators to a set, goes under the tires on a concrete pad.
• The trailer jack, G2107, is a separate part.
