The Baumalight MS572 is the widest of the 500 series skid steer mulchers, running an 87 in path and a 72 in rotor with 112 carbide-tipped bolt-in teeth. It weighs 2,266 lb, cuts from 1.5 in above to 1 in below grade, and is sized for universal-mount carriers from 6,000 lb. Three bent axis piston motor options are offered.

Shipping & Freight

Delivery is available to the Lower 48 only; no shipping to Alaska, Hawaii or other US territories. Shipping is a flat rate based on your order total:

  • Orders up to $5,000: $279
  • Orders $5,000.01 to $10,000: $347
  • Orders $10,000.01 and over: $517

These rates cover standard freight delivery to a commercial address. After you place your order, our team will confirm your delivery timeline within 1 to 3 business days.

Liftgate service is required if your delivery location has no loading dock or forklift to unload the freight. If you are unsure whether you need it, contact us before ordering.

Commercial delivery locations are preferred when available. Residential delivery, limited-access locations, and appointment scheduling may affect handling and extend delivery time.

Lead times vary by product, manufacturer availability, and selected options. Some configured, special-order, or non-stock items require additional processing time before they ship.

Please inspect all freight shipments at delivery before signing. If you see visible damage, note it with the carrier and contact us as soon as possible.

If you need freight, delivery, or lead-time guidance before ordering, contact our team before you purchase.

Compatibility / Fitment

Compatibility varies by product type, machine setup, selected options, and intended application.

For machine-mounted equipment and attachments, buyers should confirm fitment before ordering using the relevant machine information, including model, attachment style, mount type, coupler type, hydraulic requirements, and any other product-specific requirements listed on the page.

Hardscape Heavy can assist with pre-order fitment guidance based on the information you provide. This guidance is limited to purchase and compatibility review before ordering and does not include field installation, hydraulic modification, fabrication, or on-site setup support.

If you are unsure whether a product will work with your machine or application, contact us before placing the order.

Returns & Warranty

Warranty coverage is provided by the product manufacturer where applicable. Warranty terms, coverage periods, exclusions, and claim procedures vary by brand and product type.

Hardscape Heavy does not create separate warranty coverage beyond the manufacturer’s warranty unless explicitly stated on the product page.

Returns are governed by our store return policy. Because many products in this category involve freight shipping, special ordering, or configuration-specific selections, return eligibility may vary by product and condition. Special-order, custom-configured, used, damaged, or installed items may not be eligible for return.

Please review our full return policy before purchase. If you have questions about return eligibility or manufacturer warranty coverage for a specific item, contact us before ordering.

The MS572 is the widest head Baumalight builds in the 500 series, the line made to maintain and clear fence lines on farms and to carry entry level contractor work. It runs an 87 in path over a 72 in rotor, which is the widest swath in the series, so a fence line or a right of way closes in fewer passes and less of the day goes into turning the machine around. It is the same build as the narrower heads in the line, sized up, and it works below grade rather than stopping at level, which lets it take a root flush instead of shaving over it.

Width is bought with carrier capacity, and that is the decision to make here. A rotor this wide needs a heavier machine under it and enough flow to keep every tooth loaded, and the large pressure gauge is how an operator knows whether the carrier is delivering it, because once flow starts blowing over relief the head stops being productive. Every motor option on this head is a bent axis piston motor, built to make the most of the flow and pressure a carrier actually has, which is why case drain is charted as critical on all three of them at every rated pressure. The rest of the choice is the tooth: planer teeth take small bites and cut most efficiently, while ripper teeth shred and their V shape resists the stone impacts that shatter a flat profile, which makes them the better choice below grade and in fence lines. Match the motor option to the carrier's measured flow on Baumalight's own motor chart before ordering, and confirm the carrier has a case drain line first.

Common Applications

  • Wide right of way and utility corridor clearing
  • Fence line maintenance over long runs
  • Land clearing where pass count decides the schedule
  • Below-grade cutting on stumps and root collars

Selection Notes

  • Match the head to the carrier by weight first: this model is charted against a minimum carrier weight of 6,000 lb, the heaviest requirement in the 500 series.
  • Case drain is critical on this model and on every one of the three motor options it offers, at every rated pressure. Confirm the carrier has a case drain line before ordering, or have one field installed.
  • Hydraulic couplers are not supplied with this model. Baumalight ships no couplers with the product because carrier fittings vary too widely, so they are ordered separately against the carrier.
  • Three motor options are offered and every one is a bent axis piston motor. Each option is charted against a carrier flow band rather than given as one flow figure for the model, so the option is chosen against the carrier's measured flow.
  • Two tooth styles are offered on the 500 series and the choice is a real one. Planer teeth take small bites and cut most efficiently, but their flat profile leaves them vulnerable to shattering against rock and debris. Ripper teeth shred instead, and their V shape resists impacts with hard objects, which makes them the better choice below grade and in fence lines.
  • Units ship with P5000 planer teeth fitted. Ripper teeth go on as the planer teeth need replacing, and the rotor can be run with a mix of the two styles.
  • A free replacement belt ships mounted on the unit in a built-in storage bay, so the spare travels with the machine.

112 carbide tipped bolt-in teeth
Hardened v-notch holders absorb impacts from multiple directions, and worn teeth are replaced in the field rather than the rotor being sent out

Pressure gauge and relief valve
The operator sees how close the machine is to relief, and the valve opens on an obstacle before a pressure spike reaches the motor or the hydraulic system
Spare belt in a built-in storage bay
The free replacement belt travels with the machine instead of being left in the shop
Chain curtain and wire protection kit
Standing brush enters and mulched debris exits at the rear, kept down by the curtain, and wire fencing is kept out of the rotor
